Ganns | 3/21/2006 11:38:00 PM

Oh, LHC feeds! Cool! :)

BULAGA! Happy birthday, Chiqui!

Hello pipol.

belated happy birthday to angie, toni, and erik.

what did you guys do for valentine's?

ako, i bought mike heart-shaped doughnuts from dunkin' donuts. we watched a film-showing at school. then i had dinner at his house with his parents.

everyday is valentine's day ... hehe! :)

hey toni. i read the post about your grandfather rather late (last week). medyo late na 'to ... but my prayers and condolences to you and your family.

Happy New Year, everyone! :)

Merry Chrstmas, everyone! I'm sorry if I am not able to reply much lately; Caths and I are going on honeymoon soon. Luv yall! Mwah!

Really happy for you, Karen! :)

Yes, it was beautiful. The two of you looked soooo much in love with each other! Congratulations!

Thanks! :)

Kayo magsabi kung kailan, kasi mas maluwag yata ang schedule ko. Basta next weekend, I'm definitely not free coz I'll be in Caliraya.

Waiting for Rowie's reply. Heehee.

My world is one big wedding preparation. Tonight, Caths and I are going to Rustan's to select items for the registry. [If it's not too kapal, please shop there. We could really use the items we're picking out, and you guys get 10% discount if you buy in cash yata.] We're giving out the invites starting this week.

So when are we meeting? I'm itching to give y'all your invites, as well as catch up on everyone's lives. Karen, I got your new phone number. Thanks.

karen, ang heavy naman ng question mo! :)

such things (profound discussions on love and life) should be discussed in person rather than on a blog .... kitakits soon? :)

it's alive! it's alive! (the blog, i mean. hehe!)

I'll be leaving Oct. 24 ng gabi. :/ When I come back na lang. But yes, yes, yes, let's get together!

ang tahiiiimik dito!

I will be there. :D

Btw, Jerome's getting married too! He just e-mailed me yesterday about his engagement.

BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ERIK!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, TONI!

ADVANCED HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANGIE!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ERIK! ^^,

Manang Emilie (our housekeeper) was admitted to the hospital yesterday. Her hemoglobin level is dangerously low (50; the normal level is 120) and she needs a blood transfusion TODAY (Sunday). If you are willing, please go to the hospital today and donate blood in the name of EMILIE ALIBO (if you are asked, mention that she is confined in the Gyne ward). The hospital is Quirino Memorial Medical Center (formerly Labor Hospital) on Katipunan Ext., Quezon City. (Coming from Ateneo going towards White Plains, it is after the fly-over, right after the P. Tuazon intersection, on the right side of the road.) If you are going to donate blood, please please send me a message via text or e-mail so I can keep track of donations.

Emilie has also been diagnosed with a myoma (a muscle tumor) in the uterus, and there is a possibility that she will need to undergo a hysterectomy. Please include her, as well as her daughter Ella, in your prayers.

Thanks.

About Saturday: since our household is in a bit of a panic, it might not be a good idea to have it at my house just yet. Sorry. I do think that I will be free to attend something on Saturday, though.

You're welcome, Karen! ^^, Yes, I have noticed that L.A.'s fashion style is slowly starting to improve. I had an awful thought, one time: what if L.A.'s my doppelganger?!

GANNS' COOKIES and CREAM CHEESECAKE

Ingredients
Crust
2 cups chocolate cookie crumbs, crushed (Oreos or Hi-Ro's are good, plus you can give Ian the white stuff)
6 tablespoons butter, melted but not liquid (feeling rich? Go Lurpak; it's by far the most filling)
Filling
1 pack Philadelphia Cream Cheese, softened (feeling cheap? Go Magnolia)
1/4 cup sugar
1 tbsp. unflavored gelatin
3 tbsp. full cream milk
1 cup all purpose-cream, chilled (important! make sure it's chilled but not frozen)
1/2 cup chocolate cookies, coarsely chopped
Topping
1/2 cup chocolate cookies, coarsely chopped

Directions
To make crust, mix chocolate crumbs and melted butter. Press onto a 10" springform removable bottom pan. Chill.
For filling, beat the cream cheese and sugar until light and well blended. Dissolve unflavored gelatin in milk over low heat. Add to the beaten cream cheese while still hot. Continue beating until blended well.
In a separate bowl, whip cream until stiff and fold into cream cheese mixture. Fold in coarsely chopped chocolate cookies. pour into crumb-lined pan. Chill until set. Slice into desired size. Before serving, top with coarsely chopped chocolate cookies.

Party! Party! Party!

Game! Gawin na nating excuse yung birthdays nina Toni, Erik and Anj to get together.

Congrats, Toni, on the happy news about work and lovelife. Kumusta masters? :)

BTW, mali ata spelling ng URL sa "my journal" link mo sa ibaba. Hehe! :P

My site has moved out of Blogspot. I’d really appreciate it if you could update your site link to http://www.meremadness.com. God bless you all and keep you safe! Happy Birthday, Ian!

Met up with Jerome last night. (At Nix's house, together with Dave Z. and Mike -- the strange "common friends" phenomenon.) He's in town (on vacation from Harvard B-School). Very happily in love with the woman whom he's probably going to marry: our age (but DLSU batch '97 coz of the trimestral system), formerly from Citibank somewhere-in-Asia (Singapore yata), just finished her two years at Harvard, and is about to start at Citibank-New York. (Wow, Chiqui, you might meet her someday!) Bagay, di ba? (hahaha!) :)

Karen, advanced happy birthday to Ian! :)

Chiqui (if you read this), advanced happy birthday!

she's been sick on and off for awhile. two years ago, she contracted pneumonia also, and had to take a break from teaching in the middle of the semester. but after that she recovered and came back to work again (i think)

it IS a shock, though. and sad. i never knew her personally (though i'd nod to her in the corridors), but she always struck me as one of the--if not THE--nicest people in that entire university.

Sorry, sweetie, I haven't visited this blog in a while. =p

I'll post it tomorrow, I promise. lovelots, ganns

Ma'am Doreen passed away today. She'll be missed.

Since we all miss each other, gimmick naman tayo, whoever's in town and can make it.

Karen!!! Please post recipes, pretty please? Of your favorites.

I really ought to go on a diet though. I've put on (egad!) six pounds in the last six months. Oh well, part of that is a product of summer bumming ... but then again, I was bumming in the U.S. for three whole months and didn't put on a single ounce. I hope that my weight goes down now that I'm teaching again (and hence, am leading a much more active lifestyle).

So, Karen, what's this project you'll be working on? Good luck and God bless!

Inggit ako. I haven't had any opportunity to cook, other than frozen teriyaki chicken fillets nuked for 5 mins. in the microwave. With prepacked broccoli.

Hey? You guys alive?

Thanks for your prayers. My mom's okay and in rehab now! Praise Jesus! =D

I'm afraid I'll have to take a raincheck. My mother suffered a mild stroke, and I'ma gone have to stay at the hospital with her.

Please pray for us, guys, and I hope to see you soon. Love you all, mwah.

I think I can make it. Confirm sa text kung tuloy, ha? :)

Congratulations, Karen!!!! :P Galing!!!! (applause! applause!)

And Toni, ako rin, super naiintriga na!

About gimmick, just tell me when. You all know my cellphone number. :)

Just got back from Boracay. Fun. Read about it in my blog. :) (Gaya-gaya ako kay Toni. Hehehe!)

Congratulations, Karen! ^^,

Anj, I'm sure you and Toni look downright fabulous now. If you're willing, get together this week because Caths will be out of town and I'm free Monday and Thursday night. =p

Good morning, y'all! I hope everyone's doing well. Just dropping a quick note, and praying that everything is okay where you are. ^^,

Thanks for the e-card, Karen. :)

Tampax? Try that Duty-Free place at the Fort.

I've got a great book on communication, Karen, if you'd like to borrow it. It's really good... "If He Only Knew" by Gary Smalley. Christian and potent. :)

Ooh, I have a wish! I have a wish! Christian wedding!

karen: *hugs* that guy--i still can't remember his name--said that his company produces their own shows eh. i forgot what some of the other shows they produce are. btw, did nessa and roli get married already?

Jesus bless you all on the occasion of His rising! ^^,

Sorry, I was offline pretty much all of Holy Week. It's wonderful to see everyone blogging again - well, except Chiqui, but then again, that's Chiqui for you (sabay booming megabucks laughter from New York, Rio, Tokyo).

The wedding plans, the wedding plans. Well, this week, Caths and I want to book our photographer. We really like the work of a fellow named Dino Lara, but he's really pricey. We're just gonna have to see how that turns out. There's a wedding fair at the Fort this Saturday, so Caths and I might go to that one as well; hopefully, the fair people might give a discount. On that note, btw, Toni, Caths and I have decided that we can't afford Kai. I think his stuff is quite good, yet at the same time, Caths (being the bride-to-be and all) isn't that impressed.

Also, our wedding seminar (the two-and-a-half-month-long one) starts end of April. It's gonna be intensive, but I'm open to the ideas. What's important is not to lose temper during the emotional discussions.

I've lost close to 20 pounds already! 25 to go!

Toni: Oist! What don't I know? I am in the dark again, ano ba iyan?! Padamay doon sa pizza! Ay shux, bawal nga pala.
Karen: good luck! There are a lot of nice places in the Parañaque area. I'll even help you look around, if you want. What price range do you see yourselves working with?
Pau: I'm praying for ya, pal. We had a Bible seminar for Holy Week, three days of intensive, Christ-centered lecture. I've never been so bombarded with doctrine and suggestion in my life. It was wonderful.

Everyone else: Whazzup?!

Folks, keep that special prayer for me until next week, okay? I find out whether I get chosen next week! *gigil*

Hoppy Easter!

Bad news; I was at the White House (it's just walking distance lang from my uncle's place) yesterday, and two guys in suits accosted me and told me I would have to be held for custody because of my Middle Eastern features. I couldn't do anything about it, so I was held in a temporary holding cell at the FBI Complex overnight. I just got out. Oh, and by the way: April Fools! ;D

Seriously, though, I'm still looking for a job, waiting for word from the school I'm applying to, and missing Tiffany terribly much. :(

Karen, it's important that you and Jon be able to stay together no matter where either of you is working. Don't worry; maybe you can find a nice place in Manila if it comes to that, di ba? Try in Paranaque! :D

Karen again: What's the show? BTW, I met a guy from the production company that co-produces Exchange. He knows you. I forgot his name though (oops!). Windsurfing friend of Mike's.

Happy Easter Monday, all!

Karen: Chiqui tried sending you mail but apparently your hotmail account is inactive. Ano na ba ang e-mail address mo ngayon? I tried writing to your yadayada address as well, also to no avail.

Meanwhile, yes, you and Jon will be in my prayers as you discern the question of whether or not to move.

Hey, everyone! The Holy Week break will have me joining Cathy and her family at the Hope of God Church Camp in Malolos. I will therefore be offline. I trust the Lord will keep you all safe and sound for the next few days. I will be back online on Monday, April 1st. Remember, y'all, God loves you!

ganns

Wha' happened to your blog, Pau?

Happy to hear you're safe and settling in. :)

I'm here!!! I'm posting from an internet terminal near Georgetown. Ang ganda ng Washington!

We're gonna miss you, Pau. Have a safe journey!

And don't forget to post when you get there so we'll know you got there safely! =D

Yeah, who is he?! Lalo na akong nase-stress sa iyo, e!

So, who is he, Toni?

Thanks, Row, for the birfday greeting!

Yesterday was a blast! Thanks a lot, Pau, for coming along! Thanks, Karen, for calling! Row, it was fun!

Toni... well, there will be other times. But no more wheat bread! LOL

Happy birthday, Ganns! :P

Um... hockey?

guys, may tanong si karen. ano raw yung pangalan ng game sa winter olympics kung saan may batong inilalagay sa ice tapos tinutulak sa goal gamit ang mga brush daw?

HAPPY VALENTINE'S, everyone! ^^,

I actually don't know. The remaining guys of Release/ReVerse will sing a four-song set. ^^,

anj -- hey, thanks for the shopping "compliment." :) heehee! :)

thanks, anj. ^^, i'd much rather get laid than laid off, but even that's off the list until december.

nag-iisang buwan is next week, friday. wanna meet up? mike p, gen wang, and i (plus rowie and cathy, hopefully) will play. ^^,

Hey folks, looks like I almost got slammed by the rush of employers looking to ease their financial woes by dumping some of their employees. I didn't get fired, but I'm giving way to a new Director, so it's a demotion of sorts. I'm not worried, though, because I still have my job and the Lord is good, all the time. So! When do we meet up again? ^^,

sounds so cool! if i ever happen to see that red sleeveless blouse, i'll buy it for you (if i have the cash) or at the very least, let you know. :)

gimmick ... anytime! :)

"He may be gone, but he's still not gone inside me." - Calvin

fr. gorospe died a little more than an hour ago. :(

good luck with the applications, ordo! :)

I'm jobless. :(
Anyone need a voice talent? :)

bahala si Mike if he wants us to go. i'll let you know na lang. feb 9? the day sounds familiar ... i'm not sure why .... ahh, oo nga pala, magbibigay ako ng oral exams.

meanwhile, yes, ganns, i know you visit my blog regularly. so does toni. thanks. :) i can't decipher some of the other domains, though.

Caths doesn't particularly look forward to going... =(

I guess we're just going to have to spend Valentine's studying the Bible. ^^,

I've been reading! My sitemeter also tells me who visits! ^^,

As of today:
1. I got news from work that I'm probably getting demoted. Not a problem. God is good, all the time. For further info, visit my blog.
2. Wedding plans still ongoing. Canvassing for good photographers and videographers.
3. Premarital counseling with Church starting in April. Reading "If Only He Knew," assigned reading right now.
4. Thrilled to bits that Toni thinks I'm best male friend #2! It's one of my biggest accomplishments ever. Truly.
5. I've lost 7 pounds. Forty to go. *sigh*
6. Wanna go to the PExman Labs Kita? ^^,
7. Nursing a really bad cough and cold (I think it's stress from my impending demotion), am at work now and looking forward to lunch with Caths.

I hope everyone's doing well. I'm quite! Love y'all! ganns

Hi people!!! :)

Well, in case you haven't been reading my blog (and I have sitemeter, so I more or less have an idea of who has been reading and who hasn't; heheheh!) ... this is Rowie's life as of today, January 23:

1. Mikoid's off in sunny Boracay, ergo medyo nangungulila ako (hint! hint!). He left last weekend (and so didn't spend his birthday here) and won't be back till Sunday. Nine days .... Sigh!
2. Work is getting stressful, because my graduate studies deadlines are looming. And I'm not too happy with my teaching performance either, for a number of reasons.
3. More on work. Student troubles! I have students who are in trouble ... of getting dropped, of getting kicked out, of getting suspended ... aaarrrrrgh!!!!!
4. I have gained 15 pounds since the Christmas break. Horror of horrors!
5. On the lighter side: I have a few major vacations to look forward to this year. Vigan with my aunt. Maybe Pagudpud (how do you spell it?) Boracay with high school barkada. Boracay with Mike. Tayo kaya, kailan tayo magbo-Boracay as a group??? What happened to the let's-save-up-for-Boracay plan??? (Put it this way ... my high school barkada met just last weekend, came up with the idea ... and I think CDy's already getting ready to book tickets. Proactive, man! heheh!)

Thanks, guys! :*)

How are all of you? Let's post updates on us! ^^,

good luck with the planning, gans! :)

Picked a place: Patio Victoria in Intramuros. It's gorgeous, it's classic... it's remarkably economical. *sigh* ^^,

*blush* heehee We're really like that. heehee

Re: the gay thing, I think every woman has the potential to be a fag hag. Maybe your gaydar is on extra-sensitive alert lately due to your upcoming... you know... monthly thang.

As for the crush thing... I don't know. I've honestly never had a crush who's spun my world since Caths.

Where've you been, Karen?! LOL Actually, he's bi. So there's the rub. Captain Picard can't seem to pick a card.

I hope that crush is Jon! LOL

Thanks, Karen. I updated it right now. ^^,

No zits on me, whew, but I know the feeling. =%O

Ay, inggit ako. Firewall ang IM dito, e. =<

Happy New Year, everybody! I pray that God blesses you this coming year to no end!

Was in Caliraya from the 30th to the 31st. Came home, showered, changed, then M and I went off to Christmas Eve dinner and media noche at my lola's house. Ate till I was stuffed. Left, went home, slept. Woke up, Mass. Lazed about. Then off to M's house for dinner with his folks.

Happy New Year everyone!!!

Happy New Year!!! So, how'd everyone spend their New Year? We just spent it at home, resting after our trip to Bohol.

Karen, thanks. :)

Happy New Year, everyone! :)

I'm going to be offline until January 3, so I gotta say...

MERRY CHRISTMAS, EVERYONE!

Aw, Karen! *pat pat*

I'm sorry you feel that way. And I do mean that. ^^, Here, buy yourself a Frosty on me. I'll pay you back the next time we see each other *big ganns grin*

I like Wendy's Frosty. Masarap palang kumain ng Frosty! ^^,

Ugh, firewalled ang PEx?! That's a stupid idea for an ad agency. The target market is all there, unadulterated feedback on products and stuff... tell your bosses (with all Christian love) that they're closed-minded.

Bulaga! Thanks, Ordo! heehee Typical, typical, typical me.

It was Karen's birthday, Ganns, not Angie's. ^^, If you hurry, you can still edit that post before they see it. BWAHAHA!!!

Heto na si Angie!!! :D I'll add you to the link list.

Krn, I'm sorry I didn't text you Happy Birthday; dito na lang: Happy Birthday!!! How's your father-in-law na ba?

From Caths and Ganns: *biiiighuuuug for Karen*

thanks krn! happy birthday!!!! how's your father-in-law? hope he's doing better. *mwah!*

Awww! Sugary! ^^,

hey guys!!!!!

ordo, you didn't sing barry manilow for us! :( the party was fun. we played "the weakest link"; the questions were LHC trivia. fun fun fun! thanks, solace and b, for coming up with that great idea. :)

karen, congrats on the new shoes. :) :)

Congrats, me happy for you! =)

Toni and I were pinoyexchanging, and the next get-together is Ganns-cooked. We're going organic, semi-vegetarian. Let me know when (and I want to bring Caths, k lang?).

Attended the Hillsong concert last night. Ang galing! I love worship concerts; they're so uplifting.

My head hurts, Daddy. My arteries are clogged. After barbecued isaw, blue cheese pasta, roasted chicken, cookies and cream cheesecake, and a lot of junk food, softdrinks and Cali, I wouldn't be surprised if I had a stroke within the week. *rolleyes*

How was the party?

I'll just sing in this blog. *Ahem!*
Um, ahem, ahem!
^_^

Bwahahahaha! Good one, Toni!

You know, Manilow's album debuted at #90 last week on Billboard.com. Maybe you can sing the lead single for us, Pau? ^^,

Actually, with my father in the hospital and my church gearing for a day-long activity at Tagaytay, I'm thinking that I mightn't be able to make it. But maybe I can follow in the evening.

I won't be able to go to the Christmas party. We have a Church Youth Fellowship, then I'll be working my butt off at home for the rest of the day. Have fun na lang kayo. :(

Thanks! :) :) :)

Great to have you blogging, Rowie!!! I'll add you now.

Thanks Ganns! Have a nice day too. :) How's your dad? Hope he's doing okay. I'm still praying for him.

Hey Rowie! Welcome to the Club! I've linked you already to Caths' and my sites. Have a nice day! ^^,

Oh, wait. Let me just put the link here. Okay, Ordo? :) Thanks a very many.

Hey, I've done it. :) I have my own blog thingy. Paulo, I'll send you the URL.

Okay. This is it. My first real blog "entry," and writing here reminds me of the first time that Erik wrote in our college logbook. (Erik: "I can't write, because I don't know what to say." Us: "Erik, just be SPONTANEOUS!") I'm still too lazy to create my own online journal, so I'm just going to depend on Pau's genius....

I am happyhappyhappy ... and have been happyhappyhappy lately. Not loud-happy, just peaceful-happy. I gave my first batch of "real" lectures in class today (first for this sem, I mean), and despite my fumbling Tagalog, I felt truly in my element. After my third class, my voice was already hoarse (tsk, tsk--mental note: should never forget to speak from the diaphragm), but I walked into the department smiling and said aloud to nobody in particular, "Ang sarap talaga magturo!"

A few hours later, I was teasing Jon because he was in a similar I'm-high-on-teaching mood. "Hala ka, isa lang ang ibig sabihin noon--bokasyon mo na nga 'to!" Projection, perhaps, because I'm just not prepared to say that this is what I'm going to be doing for the rest of my life.

But life is good. :) Teaching is great. :) And I feel in love with God again. :)

This blog is slowly turning into the Ganns is alone blog. I suppose email is still the best way to communicate, ne c'est pas?

Caths and I are getting married! =) She accepted my proposal last Saturday. :)

Mike isn't gay. He has a girlfriend named Tracy, and trust me, they lose their patience. A lot. ;)

Well, I think it works. Here's a thought, though; maybe we can change the top? just a comment, though, I'm just kinda hmmm'ey with the { LHC`94 onLine } tag. how about [lhc '94 onLine] in a different font? just a thought. the menu bar rocks, and the simplicity makes it so much more attractive.

then again, you've always been the whiz at that kind of thing. love the brownpau site, caths and i visit daily. hi to tiff!

I like the orange menu bar better on the right. Don't you?

Looks great to me, Pau! ^^,

It seems as if everyone is quite busy. I'm just trying to get through the day. I hope everyone's doing well. Love y'all. ganns

Testing new layout... Okay, here's the new layout, with descriptions, links, and archives off to the left. You like? If you want anything changed, just post here or mail me. `Musta na kayo?

(By the way, this is a good place to post all those inspirational and humorous whatevers you receive in the mail!) ^^,

Rowie, you are in Caths and my thoughts and prayers. :)

I met up with Mike Constantino and Toti Wong last Friday for old times' sake and a little conniving with regard to the Halloween revelation. Will post email within the next two days on update. :)

Love y'all. ganns

Man, I have lots of blogs to link! ^^,

Thank you for inviting me, Pau! Here I am! Oh, and by the by, I've got my personal blog. You can link that instead of Caths and mine.

Oist! Karen! Kamusta na?! I miss you terribly. Toni, too much fun last Saturday. I really want to thank you, Rowie and Bok for your assistance. Sssh muna tayo diyan, basta I'll keep y'all posted via email. - ganns

Yippee. :)

I need to redesign this so our respective sites are linked. Ganns and Toni have blogs already.

Bloggity-bloggity! I'm alone. :(

Talk about inappropriate ad placement. Look at that headline, then look at the guy on the ad at right.

Yay! Now we're blogging! By the way, those of you who don't know HTML, here's how to do it...

<B>Bold text</B>
<I>Itals text</I>
<A HREF="http://www.link.com">Linked text</A> (don't forget the http://)

Or you can use the little buttons above the Blogger posts window, to the right.

An Afghan American speaks. Tamim Ansary's article on Afghanistan and Bin Laden, if you haven't read it yet. "You can't bomb us back into the Stone Age. We're already there. But you can start a new world war, and that's exactly what Osama bin Laden wants."

Testing, testing. You can use HTML code in this too, you know. Bold. HREF Link. Di ba?

Okay. Now go and blog! :D Blog! Now!

Blue, blue, my world is blue...

I'm working on a new layout now. What colors do you want? Unless otherwise stated, i-blue ko na...

Hello. :) Cute nito ah

Here I am! This is a good idea; parang logbook. You want me to come up with a layout to put in the template?

(And I made the second post EVER! :)
